New Account - How Do I Add Existing Tracking Codes

Hey Guys,

I just set up a new account for Google Analytics for my company due to creating a new website.

BUT - there is an existing tracking code for App Data for our mobile app.

Is there a way, on my new account, to add a new property using an existing tracking code, rather than setting up a new property and having to add a new code into the app?

Hi Boast,

If you have added new domain, then you need to register and generate new code. if you just revamped your website, you don't need to register and generate new code.

New registration and new code is necessary for the new property.

Hope I helped you.

Thanks
Virendra

Hi Boast,
Here is the best practice:
1. Mobile app and website should be tracked in different properties.
2. Use different property to track different domain in general. Cross-domain tracking is applicable only if necessary.
3. Track iOS and Android versions of mobile apps in different properties.

Every new property is associated with dedicated tracking code. You can't use one tracking code for multiple properties.

Let me know if any question.
Thanks!
