Lost data for old web site

We have a old web site we're no longer using. Its URL is now pointing to a different, new site.  Nevertheless, we would for comparison's sake like to have our GA data for the old site.  The site is still listed under our GA account.  However, when we try to view the analytics, it just says zero across the board, even for dates in the past when the site was live.

The tracking ID for the old site is no longer being used, but we didn't expect that would mean the information tracked under that ID in the past would be erased.  Is there any way to view it or get it to appear in GA?

Hi Karen :-)
To the best of my knowledge, data is generally kept for at least 25mths.
If its been longer than 25 months since the Property was used, then the data may not be there anymore.
Also another thought too, are you able to confirm that the tracking in the past was actually working (via previously downloaded reports etc)
- reason i ask this is because it is not uncommon for an Analytics Account to be created, yet for one reason or another the tracking does not
end up being installed on the website, therefor no data gets tracked.
