Lost Seach Console Acess?

When logging into my Search Console account this morning one of our websites had become unverified.

I originally verified it I did it through Analytics.

The one thing we've changed is adding autotrack to GA so we can effectively track outbound clicks and social shares.

But the location of our GA code hasn't moved so I don't really understand how Search Console could become unverified?

Our GA tracking has not been affected from this.

Hi @Timothy M

You'll possibly have to use a different method for verification eg upload of the provided html file or addition of the provided site meta tag.

Use of auto track doesnt use the usual tracking code snippet and seems to modify it in such a way that its no longer recognized for search console verification purposes.
