Http Traffic To HTTPs Website Missing Referra's

Hi All,

We have some paid banners on other forum websites that are meant to click through to our site. We are meant to be able to report on how many sessions came from each site.

I thought I would be able to do this looking into referral traffic. But I am guessing as all the banners are on forums that are all http (un-secure sites) and they are directing traffic our Https site it's not picking the referral traffic up.

What's the solution for this? How am I going to track each referral?

Do I need to add individual tracking URLs to each forum banner? There must be a quicker way, surely?

Many thanks for your help.

http to https should pass the referral data.
Https doesnt pass referral data to http (not by default anyhow)

Are there any redirects occurring between someone clicking the banner link and then arriving at the destination url on your website.

Usually best thing to do with paid advertising is to add custom campaign parameters to the destination urls
