How to identify the email address which created a tracking ID?

Hi there,

I understand it's possible to ask Google to contact the owner of a tracking ID to help identify and gain access to the Analytics account that is currently in place on the website.

We've checked all of our accounts and asked our client to check all of theirs with no luck, so I am hoping that Google can try this out.

If anyone has any questions relating to this, please feel free to ask away.

Many thanks

Gavin

Hi :-)

You could try to recover the account, there is a comprehensive post by Niall in the following thread on how to go about doing this
(its the one marked as best answer).

It does require an Adwords account to access the support option (they will need the Adwords Client ID). THe Adwords account does not need to be active though or have anything setup in it relating to Campaigns etc.
