How do I gain access to Analytics Property when owner is unresponsive and I am the webmaster?

I manage SEO/AdWords and website development for several clients, and all of them provide me access to their Analytics Account as well. One client in particular already has an Analytics account on a website I created. However, the user who created the analytics property a few years ago has left the organization, and cannot be contacted. Being that I'm the webmaster, and that I have access to verify anything needed to show that we own the website, is there not a way for me to take ownership of the property?

I'm worried about losing all of their Analytics Data from the past few years. Is there any way I can get access?

Hi @Philip J

You could try to recover the account, there is a comprehensive post by Niall in the following thread on how to go about doing this (its the one marked as best answer)

You may not necessarily be able to get admin access to the account, and you will need an adwords account to log into to access the necessary support options to start the account recovery process.
