This is a sporadic issue.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

I have tried in IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. This issue occurs in all browsers even after clearing cache. When this occurs, the pages with this error is not tracked.

Hi Bhavana,

it's strange... could you please send the link of the page for which this issue is happening?

Thanks!

Gabriele

The url is http://gardasil9-ca.epublishmerck.com. It is currently under development.  Below is the screenshot of the error.

As I had mentioned earlier, this is a sporadic issue and doesn't occur all the time.

Hi Bhavana,

unfortunately from the screenshot I can't tell what the error is.

Some random thoughts below, I don't know if they can be useful...

1) Your test server seems to be able to communicate with Google Analytics servers, since, in order to execute the GET request to www.google-analytics.com/collect, your page first needs to load the Javascript library, i.e. execute a GET request to www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js.

The fact that your page gets not tracked in these cases is caused exactly from the failed connection for the GET "collect" request.

3) From your screenshot, the GET request seems to be: https://www.google-analytics.com/collect?http://www.google-analytics.com/collect...etc etc.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'd say that this GET request is somewhat strange... it may be related to the error you are experiencing.

In fact, the request usually is: https://www.google-analytics.com/collect?.... or http://www.google-analytics.com/collect?... depending on the protocol.

For your case, you have the latter URL appended in query string to the first URL... maybe there are some issues with the http / https configuration of your test server?

(or maybe this is just the way Chrome console displays this error and has nothing to do with the actual GET request... I don't know)

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. Smiley Sad

When you find out what the error is, please write it here!

Best,
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

Thanks. It may be the way Chrome is showing the error.
The screenshot shows another url on mouse over which is the correct way you mentioned.

This get request is what gives a timeout error, and due to which we are not able to check the tracking correctly.
