Hi Guys!

recently I see the following results as organic traffic in my GA:

grunt-github-changes cdn site:nodepm.com

decaffeinate-parser cdn site:nodepm.com

grunt-nice-package cdn site:nodepm.com

projectz cdn site:nodepm.com

rollup-plugin-typescript cdn site:nodepm.com

sauce-test cdn site:nodepm.com

any ideas how to deal with them? Do they affect my website?

thanks!

Hey Hanna,

nodepm(dot)com is most certainly a spam site. I suggest you do not visit it or download anything from it.

Does it affect your website? yes and no ... it will artificially inflate your numbers and add junk data to your Analytics account but it will not do any other damage other than this.

I normally don't post non-google links but you should consider using the following website/guide to help you deal with this kind of spam. Carlos is an expect in this area: https://www.ohow.co/removing-google-analytics-spam/

Let me know if this solves your problem!

No, not at all.

Google understands that website spam is not under your control and WILL NOT hurt your rankings! Although do make sure you don't have any kind of forum or somewhere where people can post publicly on your website (especially with a 'follow' link) and they're posting garbage links.

You should be fine though! Smiley Happy

Hi Apex,

Typically it's best to open your own ticket but in general the answer here is still relevant for you too. Check out the article i linked to. What you need to start doing is preventing ghosting referrals.

These account for the vast majority of spam and can be easily done by creating a filter which only accepts traffic signals from valid hostnames. See the link for me details.
