Google Analytics Account Information

I have taken over the web site for my University and Google Analytics was set up on a few of the sites using Drupal.  However, I don't have access to the account (nor do I even know what account was used to setup the analytics) and the previous web guy doesn't remember either.  Is there anyway that we could get the Analytics code (which I do have access to) associated to another account?  I know I have the option of basically losing all of the data and creating a new tracking ID but my users would prefer that we not do that if possible.

Thanks for any help.

Dan

Contact Google directly and you might be able to prove you are the administrator for the domain providing that the person who registered the domain can pass DPA and still works at the university. Then Google might be able to provide you access to the data.
