GA and DCM direction gap.

Hi Everyone,

We got a tracking problem for DCM and GA tracking.

Our old URL is ‘innovate.molex.com/trends’, the new URL is ‘www.molex.com/trends’’

We changed URL in DCM and went live back in 23 Nov.

From DCM, all ads was directed to ‘www.molex.com/trends’

But in GA, you can see a lot of traffic still went to old URL.

Do you have any idea what happened here?

Users who bookmarked the old url might go to the old site.

You can debug the new site GA tracking with GA debugger, in Chrome console tab.

Your old URL is still accessible... What report are you looking at?
If user comes thru ad he receives a cookie which does not get overwritten (from the source part) if user accesses the site via bookmark or just typing in the address you might receive traffic from campaigns long gone. I'm not sure how this relates to landing page report, what is the data there.

I have had visitors from 2010 email campaigns which are kinda nuisance regarding reporting especially when they bring conversion.

Here is my old URL:
innovate.molex.com/trends?utm_source=dwmp&utm_medium=bnrad&utm_content=DWA+AMP&utm_campaign=data
This is my new URL:
www.molex.com/trends/?utm_source=dwmp&utm_medium=bnrad&utm_content=DWA+AMP&utm_campaign=data

As my mentioned, i changed it in 23 Nov, but I can still see traffic to old URL in GA Acquisition - All traffic - Source/Medium - landing Screen, then i saw same Source/Medium was linked to both URL, and old URL gets more traffic.

If you dont redirect it with 301 you will continue to see traffic there.
