GA Wordpress tracking code not working

I used a plug in to get my GA tracking code into my Wordpress site and it was working well for a few months. Then one day GA seemed to just forget I had ever had an account and prompted me to set up a new one, which I had no choice but to do. My new tracking code has never worked, and now I have the following message from GA. I am not technical and can't code, so I'm really lost.


"The default URL, for property UA-89655656-1 has no tracking code for this property, although it does have tracking codes for other properties:

  • UA-83694448-1

If your Tracking ID and your Default URL setting are out of sync, you don't get valid data in your Analytics account for the Default URL.

Either update the tracking code to use the Tracking ID for property Simple and Season, or open the Property Settings to update the Default URL for property Simple and Season to be"

The tracking code for UA-89655656-1 the implementation is broken, it is not working and GA is unable to detect it on the website.

The tracking code for UA-83694448-1 is installed twice, it is sending (incorrect, duplicate) data to your old property.

You can try to regain access to the old property as described in the thread below:


Whatever property you are going to use I'd suggest to remove all the GA implementation and start over in order to get tracking set up properly. You can use an up to date plugin like
