Change the website's url under View Settings
Some years ago I configured my Google Analytics account using a website's url (e.g. www.abcd.com) under the View settings.
Few years later I changed my website by changing the url (e.g. www.abcdefg.com) and adding a redirection. But I kept the Google Analytics configuration (www.abcd.com). During these years I've been analyzing all the data through GA.
This is my question: can I update the website's url (e.g. www.abcdefg.com) under the View settings without loosing any historical information?
Re: Change the website's url under View Settings
The website URL is used by the reports so for example when you open a page from the reports it goes to the page on the domain defined there. You need to update the website URL to the current URL to make it work like this. Your historical data won't be affected in any way. Hope this helps.
