Capturing www and non www traffic in Google Analytics

Hello,

I'm concerned my Google Analytics reports is not displaying data for traffic that goes to http://iwa-prague.com because my default URL in GA is set to http://www.iwa-prague.com. Also, I do not have a 301 redirect setup to redirect non-www URL to the www URL. Lastly, I do not have a preferred domain setup in the search console.

So, given this, then is it true that my GA reports will NOT include any traffic for http://iwa-prague.com? It will only include http://www.iwa-prague.com, since this is what the default URL is specified as?

And if the answer is yes, then the recommended course of action is:

Setup the preferred domain in Search console to http://www.iwa-prague.com

Setup a 301 redirect to redirect all traffic from http://iwa-prague.com to http://www.iwa-prague.com

By doing this then I can ensure I'm capturing all the correct data whether it be from www or non www.

Thank you.

Diana

If iwa-prague.com has the GA code in it, yes, you should see it in reports.

1 - GA should include traffic to both iwa-prague.com and www.iwa-prague.com

2 - Use a search and replace filter to consolidate both i.e. search for iwa-prague.com and and replace with www.iwa-prague.com

Let me know if the above helps.

So, you are saying that even though my default URL is set to http://www.iwa-prague.com, then traffic to http://iwa-prague.com will be included in the reports even though I had no redirect setup?
