Account Permissions without Gmail or Google Apps account?

I need to share Account access to a client whose email address is not @gmail.com or associated with a Google Account. I recall years ago this was a requirement, but can if this is still the case. Can you confirm if it is possible to share Account level access, even though the person's email address is not associated with Gmail or a Google Apps account?

Hi,

I am quite sure that the email does not need to be Google affiliated. Give it a try and see if it is approved, im sure it will be.

That was never a requirement. You're confused about what a "Google Account" is.

You can create a Google Account with a non-Gmail address. https://accounts.google.com/SignUpWithoutGmail

Thanks, @Stephen. I'll give it a try.

@Michael. Link didn't work. I understand you can create a Google Account with a non-Gmail address. I was asking if permissions could be added to our analytics account even if the person's email address had no association at all with Google or Gmail.
