Hi,

View is the number of times your ads in your campaigns were viewed by the user. A view occurs in case of In-stream view ads when a user views at least 30 seconds of the video or the whole video if it's less than 30 Second. A view occurs in case of In-display ads when someone click to view your video.

Impression is counted every time whether your ad is viewed or not and it's divided into two types:-

Video Impressions:- Video impressions are counted only for in-stream ads. In-stream is a format where your video ad begins playing without a user clicking to watch the ad.
For example, a user clicks on a link to watch a YouTube video. Before the video they select plays, a video advertisement will play. For this format, we count a video impression when the video ad before the user-selected video content begins playing.

Thumbnail Impressions:- Thumbnail impressions are counted each time someone sees your video ad displayed with your video thumbnail. When your ad is displayed, the user must click on the ad to start the video playback. This metric applies to the following TrueView video formats: in-search, in-display, in-slate.

Starting June 1st 2013, the TrueView In-Slate ad format has stopped appearing on YouTube. In fact, since April 2013 advertisers were not able to create new In-Slate TrueView Ads campaigns.
