Why does my ad status read 'ad not showing' and yet the ad is showing?

Hi!

I have several ad groups, all of which have 'approved' ads, pretty average quality scores, average landing page etc. And yet status reads that the ad is not showing! Furthermore, the ad IS showing. If I type the ad group's keyword into google, the ads appear on the front page.

Does anyone know why there would be this discrepancy?

Thanks!

Hi Shawn,

One of the possibility could be that your ad is triggering for a different keyword match type and not for the one you are checking. This happens when you have similar terms added in different match types.

Hi Pankaj!

Thank you so much for your reply.

I read the article, and there are some great suggestions, but I don't think that it applies to our campaigns.

All our keywords are 'exact match' and we only have one keyword per ad.

Having said that, each keyword is pretty similar, such as: custom software development, custom app development, custom software, application development.

Could that be the problem? Each keyword is attached to it's own Ad.

Thanks Pankaj!
