Issue with "Conversion" column data versus "All Conversion Column" data

Hi Team,

We ran a Android Mobile app Install campaign with Search Network.

We implemented Placement targeting to see the promoted adwords ads.

We created two separate conversion events - Download ( Automatically recorded by Google Play) and First App Open ( By inserting Conversion ID and Conversion Label.)

We also made sure to ONLY include the first event  (Download) in Conversion Column and Second event is NOT included in Conversion column reporting. Second event should show Inside "All Conversions".

Please see the report summary (attached).

Google Converison Event.jpg

We see 5 into "All conversion" in Conversions report under tools but inside Campaign/Adgroup/Ad it shows 0 Conversions.

Does anyone know why conversion column is Blank and what to do?

Thanks.

Anywhere else the app can be installed outside Google Play? And was the Google Play Install ticked and applied? And finally, is your Google Play Developer account linked to your Adwords?

Thanks Hoang.

1) We are showing this add inside another Google App so it is from Google Play only.

2) Yes Google Play Install ticked and Applied else the Conversion event can not be created. See the previous first image.

3) Yesterday, we linked the Google Play account and made a new download. We still see No Conversion (Auto reporting of Download from Google Play) but see ONE "All Conversion" (First App Open).

Do you have any other suggestion to try?

Thanks for the help.

 Hi Praveen,

I understand you've been having this issue for a while now, so let's keep all questions about this particular issue in this thread. This will keep all relevant info in one place and help us to answer you more quickly!

A couple follow-up questions for you:

1. How long did the campaign run, approximately?

2. In the screenshots in your very first post, it looks like those 5 conversions pulled into the "All Conversions" column successfully from the ad group view. So that seems to be working ok. Could you therefor clarify your question--which conversion action are you expecting to see in which view? I think where this is getting confusing is that it seems like you've set up multiple conversion actions to track the same thing.

Thanks in advance for the additional info,

Cassie

Thanks Cassie.

In the Images, time range is already shown as Dec 28 2015 - Feb 24 2016.

Google allows multiple types of conversion tracking so we tried the same.

Google UI gives the option to automatically track the App downloads from Google Play so we created just a "Conversion" event for App Download.

Second event we created was App First Launch which as per Google will be reported in "All Conversions".

My simple question is where is the reporting number for Automatic App download from Google Play?

Thanks,
Praveen

Hi Praveen,

If you have the app download from Google Play conversion tracking set up correctly (the one it looks like you've named "PocketLive Android," then you would be able to see those conversions reported from Tools>Conversions in your account. However, since that is not showing you any conversions, then Hoang P was on the right track--either something went wrong in the set-up of the download conversion action, or there is somewhere else users can download your app besides Google Play.

Could you please double check that you have your correct app attached to the first conversion action, and confirm that Google Play is the only place users can download your app? If someone clicked on your ad, then downloaded your app from somewhere besides Google Play and opened it, for example, that could cause the data to look this way.

Hi Cassie,

I am 100% sure that we created the two events properly to exactly test Download (Under Conversion) and First App opens ( In All conversions).

Also The below Google support document clearly mentions that we do not need to embed any kind of tracking code and everything will be automatically tracked by Google.

"AdWords can report app downloads that were driven by your search and display ad campaigns without the need for you to integrate any code. Simply start your first campaign and you'll begin to see downloads show up as "Conversions" in your reporting."

https://developers.google.com/app-conversion-tracking/android/conversion-tracking-server#reporting_f...

We have done the downloads about 5 times and it seems every time, this downloads are not getting tracked in "Conversion" column against what is mentioned in Google support document.

Looking forward for any alternative way to test this.

Hi Praveen,

Thanks for double checking. I'm going to send you an email to get more information since this seems like an account-specific issue.

Thanks,
Cassie
