Remove Payment Method to Qualify for Grant

A previous employee at my organization accidentally entered our billing information several years ago. We're trying to apply for a Google Ad Grant, and cannot create a new account because this one is tied to our site, email addresses, and TechSoup information. Is there a way to remove our billing information so that we can apply for the Grant?

Once billing has been added to an AdWords account, that account cannot be used as an Ad Grants account. As such, a new account will need to be created for use with Ad Grants.

Rest assured, grantees are allowed to have two accounts, one paid in one for Ad Grants for use in their marketing so the current AdWords account will not negatively impact your ability to set up the Ad Grants account.

To avoid recreating the account from scratch, you may try to download the current account into AdWords Editor and complete the account creation process there, being sure to follow the steps exactly as outlined in the Ad Grants Account Creation Guide and then you can upload the account back to AdWords and then complete the account submission process as listed in step 4 of the Account Creation Guide.

If downloading to Editor does not work, then you will have to start over from scratch following the steps exactly as outlined in the Account Creation Guide.
