Federally Qualified Health Center eligible for Ad Grants?

I work for a nonprofit health center that provides primary care, dental, etc. for undeserved populations regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.  We are part of the Federally Qualified Health Center system and have 501(c)(3) status.  Are we automatically disqualified because we provide medical care?

Hi Kevin,

Unfortunately, organizations with the primary NTEE code  of E32: Ambulatory Health Center, Community Clinic are not currently eligible for the Google for Nonprofits program.

Hey Kevin,

As far as the information on the page below goes, I think that yes, you're automatically disqualified:
http://www.google.com/grants/eligibility.html

"Please note that the following organizations are not eligible for Google Ad Grants:
- Governmental entities and organizations
- Hospitals and medical groups
- Schools, childcare centres, academic institutions and universities (philanthropic arms of educational organizations are eligible). To learn more about Google's programs for educational institutions, visit Google for Education."

This is a bit complex, since on one hand you are a health center l (e.g a hospital) and  on the other hand hold a  501(c)(3).

Let me ping our specialist about the grants program.

@Kevin H - As @leandrofm mentioned, hospitals and medical groups are not eligible for the program.

With that said, it doesn't necessarily mean that your particular organization is ineligible - for US-based organizations, it depends on your IS NTEE category code. So if you feel that your organization meets all of the eligibility requirements, you are certainly encouraged to apply. After all, the application only takes minutes and the results are less than 24 hours.

The first step to being approved is through Google for Nonprofits and click Join the program.
