I am trying to link my Ad Grants account with a Google for Nonprofits account by following the steps below. But once I want to enter I get this error:

'This account cannot be enrolled due to the following:
Contains billing information
These are error(s) on the account and cannot be changed in your existing account. In order to become a Grantee, you'll need to create a new AdWords Express account using a different Google Account that doesn't already have an AdWords Express account. It is important that you follow the AdWords Express Account Creation Guide.'

What should I do?

There should be no new cases of grantees affected by this issue. For the applicants that saw it - you just need to get back to the enrollment page and fill the application form, everything should work as expected now.

Hi Robert

I now have a new problem.

I got an email today that said:

Congratulations, you have been accepted into the Google Ad Grants program!

Please log into your AdWords account and accept the AdWords Terms and Conditions so that your ads can start serving. Visit our Help Center for steps on now to accept your AdWords Terms and Conditions:

https://support.google.com/grants/answer/46103?hl=en

I logged in to my account but can't see where I'm meant to accept the terms and conditions. The help centre article above shows me where to read the t&c's, but not how to accept them.

Thanks

@Rosie B

In the link you provided above, go to that page and and click the link for 'terms and conditions' - the resulting page will guide you through the process to accept the terms and conditions in your own account.

Hi @RobertCoats

In the same vein as Rosie B, our Grantspro account was accepted and connected with our nonprofits account. However, the email they sent upon 'approval' (seems to be the same as Rosie's) is asking me to sign up for AdWords Express and doesn't seem to be recognizing that we have an already existing AdWords account - it almost seems like it wants us to start from scratch. Am I missing something here? I really want to ensure that everything is properly connected to avoid losing our Grantspro status at the end of the month. Thank you in advance for your help. The email is below for reference:

We hope that your AdWords grant will help you find additional support for your nonprofit.

Now that you're a grantee, it's your responsibility to maintain your eligibility and understand how Ad Grants accounts differ from paying AdWords accounts. Please take the time to review the information and resources below so you can continue advertising with us:

  1. Manage Your Account:

Now that your account is activated, you can create new campaigns and make changes to your keywords and ads. For help on creating great ads, selecting the right keywords, and organizing your account, please visit the AdWords resources online (https://support.google.com/adwords). Keep in mind the differences between Ad Grants accounts and paying AdWords accounts and that certain AdWords tips (budget and bidding, ad types, and the Display

Network) do not apply to Ad Grants accounts.

  1. Maintain Your Eligibility:

Here's what you'll need to do in order to continue advertising with Ad

Grants: - You're required to actively manage your AdWords account by signing in at minimum on a monthly basis and making changes to your account at least every 90 days. All accounts can benefit from continual optimization, and the 90 day policy ensures that you make edits to improve your performance on a consistent basis. Your account is subject to automatic pausing or cancellation without notification if you don't make any changes in your account for over 90 days. - You cannot advertise websites other than the website domain that was originally approved for the registered nonprofit. If you need to change or add another domain to your account, vistit the following website for details:

https://support.google.com/grants/answer/1657899?hl=en. - Your ads and keywords must reflect the mission of the registered nonprofit and may not be used for commercial purposes. - Your website cannot display Google AdSense ads or affiliate advertising links.

Failure to comply with any of the Google Ad Grants guidelines may result in removal from the Google Ad Grants program. Visit our eligibility guidelines page to learn more: https://support.google.com/grants/topic/3500092?hl=en.

  1. Press permissions:

We don't permit press releases or press outreach on acceptance to the program, but you're welcome to use the language below to mention your participation in the program on social media channels, newsletters, or on the in-kind donation page of your website. Visit the Google Permissions page to learn more: http://www.google.com/permissions/faq.html

@Stanzi M

If your current Ad Grant account was accepted and connected to the new G4NP account then you should be good to go. AdWords Express is the starting point Google is encouraging for those just signing up and do not already have an existing Ad Grants account.

@RobertCoats

Thank you for your quick response. To clarify: Upon logging into my nonprofits account, under Enrollments, I should not have a direct link that will take me to my AdWords Grantspro account? It will always read 'Get started with AdWords Express,' with a link to Express?
