Join us on Friday September 11th, at 8pm IST, for an AdWords Quiz, lead by the QuizMaster, Rising Star @Sumanth Sridhar

 

Nisal will post questions, and its up to you all to give us the best answer! So join us and test your knowledge on this week's theme: Conversion Tracking!

Hello everyone!

I will be hosting a quiz about Conversion Tracking on Friday. There would be questons with multiple answers, you'll have to select the best answer and explain the reason behind it.

A winner would be selected based on maximum number of right answers.

It is important to track conversions because:

 

 

  1. Conversion Tracking is free of cost
  2. AdWords eventually allows bidding for conversions and not for clicks
  3. Conversion tracking helps in measuring how successful one’s campaigns are, and optimize accordingly
  4. Higher conversion rates reduce cost per click

Great first question Sumanth, I think i will go with 3rd option. It is always important to track the performances of the campaign so we will know where are we and how are we achieving our objectives.

Yes, third is the right one. Conversion tracking helps us understand what converts, what doesn’t and hence take a call on where to spend and how to optimize. Here’s the next one!

 

A Taxi operator has a ‘contact us’ page and a ‘booking confirmation' page, along with other pages on his website. Where should the conversion tracking code be pasted and why?

Booking confirmation page. Option 4.
This is like a a thank you page that a user can reach only when he has completed a conversion. This is the number you want to track.

Bang on, Shwetha & Nisal!  Pasting the code on other pages would track incorrect conversions and skew the data, which is very important for optimization. Here’s the next one!

 

Why is it important to assign a value to conversions in AdWords?

 

  1. Because conversions cannot be tracked without assigning a value
  2. Assigning a value helps in cost Vs returns or ROI calculations
  3. Assigning values is not important
  4. Conversion values are a feature of Google Analytics and not AdWords
