Diagnosing And Fixing AdWords Editor Fatal Errors
Sometimes when uploading changes to an AdWords account through editor, you can encounter a "Fatal Error.”
This is a relatively common scenario that happens when you attempt to make “non existing changes” in an AdWords account. For instance, you may be trying to make an edit to an already removed ad. This will trigger a fatal error because you are trying to make changes on something that no longer exists – the ad. You probably have an old version of the account in your editor. To fix this error, you will have to re download the AdWords account to get the most recent version of it. To do this, follow these steps:
- Begin to export the campaigns in which you made changes to your desktop. Create a new file that is easily recognizable.
- Remove your AdWords account from editor.
- Re-add your account to Editor.
- Import all of the changes that you made by uploading the file that you saved in step 1.
- Post changes as needed.
Removing your AdWords account will basically remove the non existing changes tied to the account.
