Welcome back to the Google Partners community. Our goal is to provide you with great resources to help you operate and grow your business or advertising agency. One way we do this is by offering a powerful library full of expert articles written by Google employees, Google Community Managers and Google Top Contributors, such as myself.
We each bring a different perspective forward to spark ideas and promote ways for you to get more from your day-to-day business operations. We touch on nearly every aspect of business operations with an emphasis on actions relating to the agency way of life that we all have in common.
Today, I would like to introduce a new series titled “Agency Actions” that will encompass many smaller articles throughout 2017. Each one will focus on a specific action you can take to better your agency. Of course, running an advertising agency is much like running any business, so most of the actions will be appropriate for any type of business operating today.
This is the first step in our Agency Actions series; we are going label this: Amp it Up.
Amp it Up!
When it comes to performance, people are your #1 asset and your #1 liability. You have to empower people to perform with you, if you are to reach your full potential as a company. You have to have strong people to have a strong team. It is surprising how many businesses lose sight of their team members somewhere along the way, without even knowing how, where or when. If we review and expand on these statements, we can infer a few actionable things from them.
- If your team is demotivated, your agency is deflated. And if your agency is deflated, you are operating with a handicap that is absolutely affecting all aspects of your operations.
- If your agency is deflated, your agency actions are incongruous.
Now I know that your first thought might be that your team is busy and working hard every day and so this does not apply to you/them.
However, it actually applies to all of us, as nearly every team suffers from a lack of amp in their daily actions. Negativity and uncertainty are streaming loud and clear across the bandwidth. Doom and gloom are stalking us at every turn. Social media is screaming nonsense. And we all are affected by the noise. It all leads to a massive energy drain that nags at us with every step forward. You have to amp up your business environment to overcome it. You have to bring your team to a higher state of being.
If you still do not see how this applies to your team, let me direct your attention to a factual reality that successful people understand. The reality is that being busy means absolutely nothing.
That’s right. What matters to them is being eventful-- actionable with regard to their objectives and productive for reaching their goals. They pursue their To-Do’s with gusto.
With this approach, they create dynamic companies with stable, strong people. They build wealth through building people. And when you have a dynamic company full of people with their minds sharpened for success, they achieve it for themselves, for you, and for the entire team. This all fuels your team to the top, which is where you really want to be.
I encourage you to take this information and evaluate your team. Look at each member and help them declutter their thinking. Help your team streamline procedures so that everything is focused on actions that count. Or in other words… Amp it Up!
Stay tuned for the next step in this series. You will not want to miss it.
Best wishes in your unique journey,
