Unclaimed map listing - ranking over my business?

Hi there,

The business I am working on is:

SignatureCare Emergency Center - Montrose

1007 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006

We have been searching the map for "emergency room" and half the time they show up. However, there is a competitor with an unclaimed listing that shows up EVERY single time. We have an active profile, good citations, reviews, etc. Why would a page that isn't even claimed be showing up consistently when we don't?

Hello, a couple things jump out at me. First, as you alluded to when you mentioned citations, one of the main indicators of your business significance to Google is how many mentions of your business appear around the web. And how consistent that data is.

I found another phone number listed in a few places - http://www.bing.com/local/Details.aspx?lid=YN873x2070301239321576153&mkt=en-ca

And according to the MozLocal tool, you have many important citation sites with incomplete or missing data - https://goo.gl/G6CKMB

perhaps claimed or not claimed doesn't matter or is not the most important criteria? https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091?hl=en

Hey @Bonafide H.

Welcome to the forum. I would say that it looks like the areas you are most weak on are what I call true organic SEO factors. When I search "emergency room houston tx" you guys are 10th organically and the guys I see in the A position are dominating the organic results.

This survey will give you an overview on what items impact organic. You might want to start with your homepage title tag.

I can also confirm that a business listing being claimed or not has little-to-no impact on ranking.
