Maps search algorythm buggy?

Hi everyone,

is listed in maps, but gets only shown using a trick which must be an error in the algorythm I think:,8.6616019,15z

does not show us, only a (very small) competitor set

setting a minimum rating of 2 stars shows us:,8.6616019,15z/data=!4m3!2m2!5m1!4e1

now deleting the minimum stars again still shows us!

It is totally inconsistent how the data is grabbed. Is there a bug google needs to fix? Can we somehow get our map listing indexed again? Did we do anything wrong?

Thanx very much for any advise.

Hi @peter w

So on the main search, it provides a small selection, if you zoom in once it provides more and you appear, also if you select the 2 star it appears. Also if you then de select it remains showing, as this is in your search history as looking at 2 stars.

Which is as intended.

So i would be looking at increasing the authority of the property to appear within the 1st initial search for "hostel frankfurt"

See: Ranking factors of a Google business page

I would build up some local citations for the business, at the moment I find only 7 sites mentioning the property.

Next your actual site:

You currently do not have any structured data on page for that hostel:

I would add a Link to your Location

Or embed your location Map on Page

<iframe src="!1m14!1m8!1m3!1d10235.127695059191!2d8.6654878!3d50.1090887!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x396bb63bb13a53ae!2sFive+Elements+Hostel+Frankfurt!5e0!3m2!1sen!2suk!4v1487013830697" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Its all about building up your sites authority.

Hi Tim,

thank You very much for your advise, you named some issues I was not aware of.
But I must admit that the steady "just try harder" is quite annoying.

Please, your honest opinion when looking at the search results, a budget hotel far away from town, a sheltered living, a boarding for construction workers, both without even a website, and the office of the girls scout association (with no beds) - but not the best rated out of 3 hostels? Are you kidding me Google? whats wrong with the "Authority" of our web site being the best Hostel in town for 10 years? Why are you kicking us out after 9 years for no reason? Is that the search results your users really want?
