Instructions for Merging Brand and Local Pages Not Correct

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

I tried following the instructions to merge my brand page with the local page, but there is no link at the bottom of the Settings >> Profile page for doing so, as the instructions say there will be. What am I missing here?

Thanks.

there are no instructions to merge a brand and a local page.
There are instructions to connect them: https://support.google.com/business/answer/6010825?hl=en

Did you following this article and are both pages managed by you in the same dahsboard (https://business.google.com/manage) with you as owner?

If you're not using the classic version of G+ you have to switch to that first. Then follow these instructions under "I've already created a G+ page..."

Those are the instructions I followed, and yes - both are on that dashboard - one under BRAND PAGES and the other under LOCATIONS.

The instructions do not work - as I said, the 'Connect to a different page' link at the bottom of the Settings page *is not there*.

I checked my own account to confirm - it is there. When you hit "Manage Page" beside the page in your dashboard (note: you need to be in the Local page, NOT the Brand Page), you should see something like this.  If you are in the Brand Page instead, you won't see it anywhere.Brand Page Connect.png

I have the same problem Solomon K has. That "Connect a different page" button is not there. I'm using the old version and I'm looking both at the Local and the Brand page. The only difference between the settings pages is that the (verified) Local page shows a "This page is connected  to Google Maps" link, like yours.

Ok, now I found the missing piece: you have to be the owner of the page (and have that page verified, I guess) for that button to show up in the settings. If you are just a manager, you will not be able to re-link your Local page to a different page.

Jorge,

Thank you so much for weighing in! I never even thought to check that. I
will ask Google to update the help center article.

This is not an answer at all, much less the best one.

I *AM* the owner of both pages, and the page with the address is verified.
