Images with text in them
A client of mine insists that I include phone numbers, URL's, and other text inside of their images. While I don't particularly agree with adulterating good business images with text when captions and well thought out landing pages can do a better job, SEO wise, is adding text to images something I should worry about, penalty wise?
Google notes in their Guideline :
Advertising and Attribution
Small, discreet copyright notices (such as a business name or logo) are allowed. Email addresses and phone numbers cannot be included in your images. Acceptable attribution must be limited to the bottom 10% of photos and the bottom 36º (bottom 20%) of photo spheres.
