How to Publish 360 tours as Trusted Photographer ?

Hi Everyone,

I just recently got the "Trusted Photographer" badge via the Street View app, which is great but it didn't really come with any instructions on how to use it "For Hire" purposes.

My latest phone call to the Google My Business team resulted in them telling me they weren't trained for this and I should just contact a photographer on the "For Hire" index and ask them.

Does anyone know how I can publish to the  360 tours/"see inside" in Google My Business? Would love to get started, they make it seem so easy in the "Earn" Video!

Hi @Thomas M

If you used the Street View app then I don't think you are a Regular Trusted Photographer, as your email would have been white listed for access to GMB pages and you would have received confirmation emails of this.

I think you have earned the Trusted Street View Badge, but I am not sure as this is the GMB forum.

I have no idea whats going on, I can't find any docs on this, they seem to have been removed.

There seem to be hundreds of similar questions in the Maps Forum

Hi Tim,

It seems like they're completely changing everything but not actually told
anyone what they're doing. From the website
https://www.google.com/streetview/earn/
they imply that it's the same asyou can get listed on the "For Hire Index"

*"As a photographer or agency, your reputation means everything. Gain
distinction and leads with Street View’s Trusted badge and promotion in our
index of for-hire professionals. Once you’ve reached fifty published 360
photos, check the Street View app for a special invitation to be marketed
as a trusted pro"*

I've gotten the badge and the invite to join the index of "for-hire"
professionals.

On the maps forum I've had it mentioned that the legacy Trusted
photographers in being phased out and all pictures will just be uploaded to
a businesses image section.

It would be great to get an actual response or statement from Google about
what's going on. Seems to be strange that new trusted photographers can't
upload 360 tours for clients in their Business Profiles.

You would need to use the Maps forum, as that is a Maps product, to get a statement.

This is rather amusing as I posed a similar query over at the google maps help forum and a community expert there sent me to Google my Business. Here I've learned that my new status as a trusted photographer is just a quasi non standard one. If the old trusted pano editor is being retired and replaced with the "next generation publishing tools" ie street view mobile, which apparently can't directly access GMB accounts how are we to proceed?Cats living with dogs.

Hi Daniel,

I think it was a Community Specialist, which are poorly trained contractors and notorious for given bad advice.

Publishing tours to business listing from within the My Business dashboard is not supported, as a new trusted photographer you need to publish photo spheres using the Street View app, link each one to a business listing, called in the app Maps listing, and connect them into a constellation.

You do not have access to the legacy Street View editor so you cannot publish to the see Inside feature, which is being phased out.

Treeebles, Thanks for the response. I have used the street view app to connect numerous constellations and attached them to businesses. The unfortunate result is that there is nothing shown on any google venue that indicates a virtual tour is available. I propose that instead of calling us "new" we should go by "semi-trusted".

The new imagery gallery, accessible from any thumbnail image on the local listing, has a 360° view tab that contains all the photo spheres available for the business.

On Maps itself, there is no currently single dot, like the orange See Inside dot, rather all photo spheres are shown as blue dots.

Treebles - Thanks. I'm still a bit confused as to what constitutes what you refer to as a "local listing". When I execute a google search I see the business listing prominently on the right, but no tab indicating 360 imagery. I have only published tours for 2 businesses so I don't have much data to work with, but if i click on the map view on one listing I see an interior sphere thumbnail for one of my tour images shown, but on the other I see an unconnected sphere that I did almost a year ago. In neither case do I see a tab for spheres. Is this a regional roll out or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Hi Daniel,

Local listings are all business listings and points of interest published to the Local database that can be found on Maps and Web searches.

The new imagery gallery can be found  on the Maps for mobile app. It has not been fully implemented or not implemented at all yet in other Google properties.
