How do we add a description to the information box?

I have noticed that whenever you search for a company, an "information box" pops up to the right of the search results, in which there is a picture of the logo and a short description about the company, and i can see that it is all linked from Wikipedia. My mom has this rather small company, and i have recently noticed that the same kind of information box pops up when you search for the name of her company - but without the description.
So I was wondering if it is possible to add a description, or if you have to make an article on Wikipedia for that to happen automatically?
Answer: There are two different types of Knowledge boxes that appear on the right hand side of a Google search - one is for brands and most of the information does come from Wikipedia as has already been mentioned. The other one is known as a Local Knowledge Panel and is drawn from the information Google holds on that local business.
