Google my Business Tagline

I noticed that some GMB pages have a tagline in the new Google+ layout. Is this because the GMB was formally a Google+ page? Is there any way of getting a tagline?

@Johann Generao I checked with some of the Google Plus TCs and they said this appears to be a Brand G+ page that got converted to a local page later on. Brand pages have these descriptions on them, local pages do not.

Hi Joy, this is 1 example.

Can you please confirm what type of page is this. Thanks.

Hope @JoyHawkins doesn't mind me jumping in. That is a verified local page.

This is what it looks like in the old G+. You can see the verified checkmark and reviews.

Thanks Colan, I referenced the classic G+ as well and was surprised to see it really was a local page.
If there's any possibility to have a tagline for a local page, like the example above, I would love to know!

Thank you for verifying Joy. I figured that was the case.

Check your page using the mobile app.

Scott Davis asked me about this in January and seems he thinks there is an option to edit/add a tagline via mobile?

Not sure if that's correct. Just sharing the convo in case anyone has time to check it out.

@Linda Buquet I get that option when I go to edit my profile on the G+ app but do not get it on the Google My Business app for a business listing.

Hmmm the image he showed me was for a Local page, but I just realized that post was private so you can't see it.
