Google My Business Listing Virtual Tours

Hi,

I am just wondering whether or not you can submit your own Virtual Tour to go on a My Business / Map Listing without having to engage the services of a someone in the 'Trusted Photographer Program'.

I am a professional photographer with all the gear required to shoot the required imagery but I havent found a way yet to submit content for a listing?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers in advance.

Rob

Hey Rob,

No you currently cannot. You could always apply to their photographer program to get access to the tools.

Hi Joy,
Thanks for the confirmation, I thought as much.
I have already been down the path of applying for it, I finally got a
response a month later telling me that the program I had applied for had
been replaced with the program I had applied for. The person from Google
that sent me the email hasn't responded to my followup so I can only
presume the program is either under resourced or they are not wanting any
more photographers in my region. Which is funny given Google got in touch
with me about the program in the first place.
Cheers
Rob

Hello Rob,
Have you contributed photo spheres to Maps?

Did you apply by submitting the form for the new Street View Trusted program?

Hello Rob,
If you have published photo spheres to Maps under the retired Google Views I would say sit tight, chances are you would be contacted again.
Google seems to do the acceptance of new participants in batches.
It took about 1.5 months since I got that e-mail to finally be accepted in the program.
I do not know how typical that wait period is though.

treebles is right. Photographers are accepted in batches and the training (sadly) has a high drop-out rate. That drop-out rate can be attributed to an older method of acceptance.

A new policy went into affect a little bit ago to address that whole situation. You are now considered for certification in the Trusted program automatically, you don't necessarily need to sign-up. Since you sent the email and they responded back, I'd say you're ahead of the game.

For full details on how acceptance works in this new iteration of the program, all you need is this: https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6272623?p=sv_trusted&hl=en

I need to also state that Google demands extremely high-quality for these tours, having Quality Control take a tour down is grounds for de-certification. Therefore, I'd also point you to the "Image Acceptance & Privacy Policies" page: https://www.google.com/maps/streetview/policies/
