Change website address from http://[business name].business.site to [business name].com

Hi!

How does one change the website address so it's properly reflected as a registered domain name? It's already registered with a company like GoDaddy.

Google uses http://name.business.site but want to use the registered domain name 'businessname'.com

There should be be method to link that domain over to Google.

Or is the Google website to Simple that it does NOT allow for advanced features??

Noticed that it can't Add web pages.

Thanks!

Hi.

According to Google...

https://support.google.com/business/answer/7032844?hl=en&authuser=0

Use your existing domain name for your new site

You can use a domain name (like example.com) that you already own for your new Google site.

If you’ve had a website on your domain for a while and it appears when you search for your business on Google, your new Google site can use your existing domain name.

Clarification...

Instead of using Google's 'Name.business.site'..

Want to use Existing domain name 'Name.com' as registered in lieu of Google's domain name.

Using Godaddy... guess I'll have to contact them to see If it can be done.

your post @Michael C doesn't contradict to what I said:

"you can't change the domain of a created  GMB website from business.site  to an other domain"

But i have also to admit the stuff you quoted is availabel not for coutries out side of USA (& Canada perhaps) - so I can't have experiences with domain based GMB websites

My query is that I already bought the custom domain from google (e.g. abc.com) before creating new business location on GMB so when new location created on GMB, it gave me some default website domain xxxx.business.site. I need to know how to change this default domain name with my already purchased domain name i.e. abc.com (which is purchased from Google Domain?

Hi,

I am new to GMB and having exactly the same situation as Tabassum described.

Is there any solution not to see .business.site as a resolved address ?

Thanks.

Nope!

Google won't change site address.

Need to get a webpage/website and get your own website name.

I have my own domain name already purchased from Google Domains before I create GMB web site.

Still no other chance rather than Forwarding but still seeing .business.site as an address eventually ?

I am having the same problem.  From the Google My Business website I click "Buy Domain".  Then I enter the address of the domain I just purchased.  It says "You already own this domain."  There is no option to connect the two sites.  Very confusing

Right? And the “Top Contributors” here are responding directly the opposite of what Google has said . https://support.google.com/business/answer/7036689?hl=en&ref_topic=7032534
