Change business maps listing into a large red dot

I did a recent search of our area and saw a few listings with large red dots (with a white square inside of it). Our listing is a small red dot. Our listing is verified. We're also doing Adwords. How do I change our listing so that it gets the big red circle?

@Nathan D The 3 big red dots correspond with the 3 businesses that are ranking in what we call the 3-pack. So you have to get ranked in the top 3 to get one of those.

Hi @Nathan D

From the sounds of it, these are place labels.

Google bases these on a variety of signals and the sites authority.

However you seem to have a SAB ( serviced area page ) what distance, area did you set for the business?

To me it looks large enough : FYI anything over 40 miles, tends not to be effective as it dilutes the page signals too much.

Thanks for your input! The service area was set to 45. Per your feedback, I changed it to 39 miles. I don't think these are place labels but here is the search I was referring to:

Any additional guidance would be greatly appreciated!
