Can I setup another GMB profile with a new domain that redirects to the original domain?

So I have a GMB profile linked to my current site, but I want to setup another profile to capture search volume for another location. I've seen others doing this:

Buy a new domain which includes the location keyword / is exact match on the keywords targeting. Setup a GMB profile with the new domain. Then redirect the new domain to the original domain. So you capture this search volume with the help of an exact match domain (it seems to work for local search) and send to your original site.

For instance, this GMB profile: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Catford+Computer+and+Laptop+Repairs/@51.4443399,-0.0251001,15z/d...

Ranks effectively for e.g. laptop repairs catford. Then the site redirects to the bromley original site.

Can I replicate this and be effective? Or it there a better way?
