1. All City Locksmith (Rancho Cucamonga)

2. 6400 Terracina ave.

3. 909.229.4955

Hello

I run a locksmith business in Rancho Cucamonga, CA
and have ranked #1 on google local for 6 years now,
but noticed over a week ago, that when i did a general
"Locksmith" search on my desktop, there would only be one listing
appearing on the right side of the window, the top 3 were gone.

I called google about this issue on the Jan 25th and was told to update
my zip code and after I did this, I have dropped from the #1 to #7.

I spoke with a few people on the phone and was told it would

go back in its original ranks in 7-10 days, but still ranked way below and yet I have the most complete local

page in my area, respond to most reviews and try to post often, that is something no others do.

Hoping this gets fixed

Please help
Thank you

Hi @Gary B

I don't know why they asked you to update your zip code, did they give you a reason ?

However, you are appearing for your name, which is good.

Can you take a look at the exact area for Rancho Cucamonga as displayed by Google.

Is the address you registered with in this boundary ?

This may be a reason, whilst the data refreshes itself.

Everyone above you has a 91730 zip and one has a 91764, it looks like 91737 is a little further away from Rancho.

Now this should not be playing a part, because you are serviced area, but it looks like your service area is set at over 40 miles. Anything over 40, tends to dilute positioning signals.

The cache on the page says 25th Jan.

So i suspect it will need to visit and index again.

Other then that, there is no logical reason that I can see. Great reviews, good citations, great organic positions

hmmm

Hello Tim

This issue was fixed a few days ago, but then yesterday it dropped back to #7

Do you think this will get fixed or re indexed in the next few days?

Thanks in advance

Gary

Good Morning

I woke up and checked it on my iphone and it ranked #1 but then drops in and out throughout the day

and does the same on a desktop.

I had Garret re index my page a few days back, so, i think it should go back to its normal position soon, it has too

i respond to all my reviews and keep the page updated the most out here.

Dropped from 1st Page to 2nd Page

Hello Tim

We spoke awhile back, but i am having another issue that I noticed a few days back.

I dropped from page 1 to page 2 when doing a local area search on the most important keyward

"Locksmith Rancho Cucamonga"

I have the most reviews out there, I respond to 99.9 percent of my reviews, share updates quite often and just uploaded even more pictures.I do the most for my google page, more than any other competitor and now dropped.

I was told by someone on the phone that my page needs to respond to every review (which i do), and add more shared updates (i also do this), more phots etc (i just added 40 more) . I have the most everything in my area and now dropped again. This cant be correct.

Can you look into this?

Thanks much

Hi @Gary B

I find you position 6

screencapture (34).png

I don't think this is your business page or your website as you are organic position 4.

I looked at the distances served on the serviced area locksmiths above you and they all seem to have a fractionally smaller service area ...  a possibility, If we can tighten up the focus that would be good.

I found some inconsistencies in your local citations : Add your name and Zip to check : https://moz.com/local/overview

You have a .us site on some listed and two with incorrect name.

I would also add your citations to the other suggested sites.

Next i would check other citations for the business that Moz does not crawl :

"All City Locksmith" AND "6400 Terracina Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91737"

Go through them, check NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE number and Website.

Then we want to add structured data markup across the site.

Add your address to footer.

All City Locksmiths

Rancho Cucamonga,

CA 91737

Then I used other details that you have on site to create this JSON-LD for you. Add this script to your footer.php or header.php file

<script type="application/ld+json">
	{
  	"@context": "http://schema.org",
  	"@type": "Locksmith",
  	"address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "addressLocality": "Rancho Cucamonga",
    "addressRegion": "CA",
    "postalCode":"91737"

  	},
   	"name": "All City Locksmith",
  	"telephone": "(909) 229-4955 ",
  	 "url": "https://allcitylocksmith.net/",

  	"sameAs" : [ "https://plus.google.com/113142477342057821274/",
    "http://www.yelp.com/biz/all-city-locksmith-rancho-cucamonga-2",
    "https://www.facebook.com/allcitylocksmithus",
    "https://twitter.com/AllCityLocks",
    "https://foursquare.com/v/all-city-locksmith/50d7328d72da0fea2194927b"]
	}
</script>

I tested it with the structured data testing tool : https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool and all OK

screencapture (35).png

To recap:

Tighten your serviced area a little

Check all citations for accuracy

Add to remaining citations suggested by Moz

Add address to footer

Add structured data to footer file

Lets check back in a month or so.
