Share Data Studio Report requiring login

When I'm sharing reports from Data Studio it is requiring people to log into Google even though I am choosing options that should not make people log in.

Can View and Find
https://datastudio.google.com/open/0B2dZU80ZPiFva29Pck1hYzlHclE

Can View
https://datastudio.google.com/open/0B2dZU80ZPiFvdHBwT0YyYm1QNnM

Both of the links above should work without requiring people to login. I'm testing these in an incognito window in Chrome.

Is anyone else having issues with the public and with link views?

The Data Studio folks use the Google Drive interface for link sharing (their bad) which leads to the confusion.  You must be logged into a Google Account to access any Data Studio report.

You must be signed into a Google account to view any Data Studio report. https://support.google.com/360suite/datastudio/answer/6283323?hl=en&ref_topic=6267740#what-you-need-...

Thank you for the link. That does clarify that a google login is required.

However, when I view the interface for sharing the link it does not make that clear. It specifically states 'No sign-in required'.

My expectation was that the link would behave like google docs and spreadsheets and not need a google login.

We´re having the same issue. Does anyone know if there is a plan to change this? Or the wording of the "no log-in required"?

Do you know if they are planning on changing the wording ("no login required")? It´s pretty misleading as is...

Phillip B. https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/6283323?hl=en&ref_topic=6267740#what-you-need-to-use-da...

The link you posted directs you to a page that says the exact opposite. That a google account is NOT required to VIEW reports. It says "anyone with a web browser" --> I still can't get anyone not signed into a Google account to be able to view any reports I've built though.

What you need to use Data Studio

Anyone with a web browser can view a Data Studio report. A Google account is not required to view reports.

To create reports and data sources, you must:

  • be signed into a Google account
  • be in one of the supported countries (see below)
  • be able to use Google Drive

This needs to  work just like Drive/Docs does...

DataStudio has updated how reports are shared since I first posted this question.

You now can share a link with people and let them view the report without being logged in.

Here is a link to a test report that I created. You should be able to view it even if you are not logged into google.

https://datastudio.google.com/open/1Kr5ZnfBsL5UhrtIXs7ebhxFcXfUECQQ3

Here are the steps:

1. Choose the Share the Report icon:

2. Choose 'Get shareable link'.

3. Copy the link that 'anyone with the link can view.'

Hope this answers your question.

Eva,

I have already followed the steps and utilized that link, but I still get the sign in screen below when I use the links generated from my reports. (I'm testing incognito). They work fine when I'm logged into an account, but when I'm not, it asks me to sign in still.  Is there a setting somewhere we need to edit/change? We made these reports back in July/August.

Hi,

I am having the same issue.

I previously used this feature and it didn't require a login, so what has changed??
