I have a 4 page data studio report that accesses multiple different data sources. I tried to add a new data source yesterday, but received a server error. Now my entire 4 page report is broken.

The main pop-up error message displayed is;

Server is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.

Each of the different report elements show the following error;

Configuration incomplete - Invalid Dimension, Metric or Filter selected

I have tried refreshing and reconnecting data sources but to no avail. I don't believe that this error is caused by a broken data source, as it is affecting multiple data sources in the same manner across the whole 4 page report.

Is this a genuine server error that has just lasted for more than 24 hours, or is there something else going on here? Any help would be appreciated! Smiley Happy

It seems like the OAuth token scope is incorrect. Mat, did you recently do anything to your connected app?

you can try this workaround,

login as the datasource owner.

go to https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

remove datastudio from there.

and then come back to datastudio datasource creation flow.

https://datastudio.google.com/datasources/create

click on the connecters you ever granted access to datastudio and follow the OAuth flow to give us right to access your data again.

this should trigger the flow to update the OAuth token, and this may fix the problem.

What data source are you using? GA? DCM? MySQL?

Hi there,

I'm using both Google Sheets and Google Analytics across different pages in the report. None of the data sources are currently working.

Still getting this error with no improvement. Tried duplicating the whole report, which momentarily fixed the problem for about 25% of the data sources used in the report, but now everything is broken again with the same server error. Is anyone else having this issue, or is it unique to my reports?

Hi Mat + Keriann,

Can you share edit access to your offending report with data-studio-help@google.com (with a link to this thread) and we'll take a look?

Thanks!

Hi Kerian,

I'm not seeing the error (I'm only seeing system errors on charts because I don't have access to the data source). Can you see if its still happening and send a screenshot?

Hi Keriann,

It looks like you lost access to the underlying adwords data source. Can you try reconnecting your data studio data source to your AdWords account?

Hi Dave - I forwarded the report through to the email above. Have you had a chance to look at the server issue? Very keen to get our sales reporting back up and running again Smiley Happy
