Multiple data sources in one field (calculated metrics)?

Hello there!

I've read the questions about multiple data sources in one groph. My question is similar. I'd like to create a calculated metric (field?) out of two different data sources (two different GA properties) like Registrations from property A plus Registrations from property B and just display one number. Is that possible?

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Claudia,

as this FAQ mentions, "[...] a data source currently can be based on only one data set."

So you cannot combine a Custom Field from different data sets.

They also mention though that they're working on it. Fingers crossed we'll be able to do that soon!

Hope that helps.

Alternatively if you can't wait for Joins to be added to Data Studio you can extract GA data for multiple views via other tools and then connect to a Google Sheet.  Other tools like SuperMetrics, Analytics Canvas, Google Analytics Spreadsheet Addon, etc.

Hi Mike A,

thanks for this tip. I tried successfully for a fixed date range. Unfortunately the Google Sheet does not update when someone changes the date ranke in the Google Studio Dashboard. I hope Google comes up with a solution soon.

Have a great day,

Claudia

Hi Jose B,

the current solution is to use Google Sheets for example to pull data from different data sources, combine an calculate there and display with Google DataStudio.

Besr regards,

Claudia

Also waiting for this feature!

I just wanted to subtract 2 graphs and draw another one with the subtraction from those 2....

The problem is that I couldn't create a calculated metric because my data was from 2 different sources.... Smiley Sad
