How to filter by AdWords conversion name?

Hi everybody. I've created a Data Studio dashboard based on AdWords data, but it looks like it can only refer to "conversions" in general. I have different conversion types, which would like to show separately in the dashboard. Unfortunately I still haven't found the "conversion name" field, which appears in AdWords but not in Data Studio.

Is there a way to filter the conversion data to specific conversion types?

Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I've tried segmenting by "Conversion Action Name" [enter the name of my conversion goal] or "Conversion Category" [enter the conversion type: Lead] but every time I apply the filter the metric errors out.

Getting lots of error messages...starting to think this isn't worth the effort

Indeed. I also receive error messages.

Can someone address this on Google's side?

Thanks

Hi there,

I'm having a similar issue with a filter.

I want to filter (including) conversions from AdWords that are a Purchase.

I currently have this filter and works fine for metrics like Conversions, Cost/Conv. but I have problems with %Conv.

I tried changing the filtering fields and several combinations, but null results.

Also I tried creating a new metric, filtering Conversions first and then dividing to obtain the %Conv but the same result Smiley Sad

CASE WHEN (Conversion action name="Transaction") THEN 1 ELSE 0 END
CASE WHEN (Conversiones = "Transaction") THEN 1 ELSE 0 END
CASE WHEN REGEXP_MATCH(Tipos Conv, 'Transactions') THEN 1 ELSE 0 END
CASE WHEN REGEXP_MATCH(Conversion category, 'Purchase') THEN 1 ELSE 0 END

Does anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately this isn't an easy to fix problem!

There is a field in Data Studio called Segment Conversion Type Name which is the equivalent of Conversion Name in AdWords.

Alternatively you can use Segment Conversion Category which is the same as AdWords Conversion Category.

You can use either of these in a filter quite easily, but you will run into problems when your applying to the filter with a table or graph containing non-conversion metrics. Data Studio will try to apply the filter to your impression, click and cost data, which can't be done.

Hence the error. This also means you can't use it for comparison metrics like conversion rate and CPA.

I'm also struggling with this. Does anyone have a workaround to accomplish the same results?

There's still no solution for this unfortunately. A very annoying limitation of Data Studio!
