I am having a difficult time displaying the geo map down to the state level.  Is it possible to drill down that far with Data Studio yet?

Q: Are you able to get dimensions of Hour + City in the GA API? (i.e outside of DataStudio)
https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/query-explorer/

Pls confirm?

Thanks

Phil.

What area are you looking to view? I've been able to create a US State map by using Google Sheets - having column (I'll call it States here) be abbreviated state names, then the next column be my numerical data (I'll call it StateCount).

In Data Studio, link your data source, set "States" Type column to Geo > Region. It will throw you an error but it will be fine. Choose the data source, set the Dimension to "States", set the metric to "StateCount", then set the Zoom Area to "US".

Does not seem to work for Canada yet.

Hi Kari,

On data studio, in the Zoom Area it is sub-divided into World, Continent and Sub-Continent. I'm able to select Zoom Area to ''North America'' but there is no option to select the country ''US'' itself ? How did you do that ? Also I like your Gsheet app approach but how would it have the data refreshed and where are you pulling the data for StateCount from ?

Thanks
