Frequency & Recency Report Not Grouped

I'm trying to gather data that is shown in GA for Frequency & Recency for the count of sessions but in DS the counts aren't grouped after 8 like in GA so the result is every line item...which doesn't help.

Has anyone else come across this?

Yes, Data Studio doesn't automatically bucket them like Google Analytics does. If you definitely want them bucketed, I think you have two options:

1. Figure out a case statement to bucket them (I'm unfortunately not well versed in this so perhaps someone else can advise).

2. Set up an automatic feed into Google Sheets (try the Google Analytics plug-in or Supermetrics) and use formulas in Sheets to bucket them.

I haven't thought about the Google Sheets method, thanks for the suggestion.

Testing this theory out and it works but will limitations - when I try filter the data to group them i.e. 9-14, 15-25, 26-25, etc. I get an invalid value when I use the filter: ga:sessionCount>9<=14 and I've even tried URL Encoded Form: gaSmiley FrustratedessionCount%3E9%3C%3D14

and nothing.

Suggestions?
