Filter control over multiple data sources

My data source 1, has field named USER and my data source 2 has a field named USER. However a filter control only applies my USER selection to one data source (e.g. a chart from data source 2 does not change)

The Help article here (https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/6305899?hl=en ) explains that a "FIELD ID" must be used to allow for single filter control to be applied to multiple data sources.

However when I go edit my data source i see list of my fields, but no Field ID.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I have the same problem, previously it had field ID, but in recent update I think it's been hidden somehow.

Thank you Mimoune

That does work if field names in original data sources match.  Wonder if result is same with two calculated fields (both being dimensions).

Thank you

please check this thread

basically just create custom dimensions, edit the field id to match both dimensions from different data sources, and voila it will works, even if the name do not match.

Hello guys

I would like to make a filter control based on the campaign. I've two data sources: GA and AdWords.

However when I create a filter control, I've to select only one data source. Consequently, I don't find how to have a filter control on two data source even if the field name (campaign) is the same in both sources.

Thanks for your help!
