Disconnect charts from filter control?

I'm currently creating dashboards in Data Studio for a client. One of my greatest pet peeves is that a filter from filter control automatically applies to all charts on a page. I have data visualized that doesn't seem to be connected to the dimensions in the filter: hence when I apply a filter from filter control, some charts change into the text 'no data'. Is there a way to choose which charts should be affected by the filter control and which should not? Or perhaps a work-around? I need to know a.s.a.p., thanks!

Are you filtering by date? If so, you could set the date range on the other charts to a custom range rather than auto.
