Data Studio with Google Sheets

I am having issues integrating Google Sheets information with Data Studio.

Here is a example of a simple sheet I have.

http://prntscr.com/fwt8sj

I would expect that "Month" was the dimension and "Build QA" was the metric.

For some reason I can't get Google Data Studio to show me a "Metric" at all. It keeps saying. "Invalid Metric"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Keeping in mind I feel that I have re-connected the sheet/source several times. Set Month as "text" and set Build QA as "number" and aggregation "none" when importing.

This is a screenshot when trying to create a table in Data Studio. Showing the metric options as blank.

When you edit your datasource in Data Studio (pencil icon), how is it set up? Is the month green and the build QA blue?

Both green. http://prntscr.com/fwuu64

Ok, that's the problem then. Your metric needs to be blue. In the "type" column to the right of the field name, click the down arrow and select "number" and make sure that the "aggregation" also changes to "sum." This should turn the field name blue.

That still didn't fix my problem....

When I try to create a bar chart it only goes up to 1.2 when most numbers are above that.

Looks like this: https://prnt.sc/fwvht3

So lets try something else....

I have changed the Google Sheet to display Yes or No in the "Build QA" column.

I have edited the data source to show "Text"

I still get invalid metric shown here with no other options for metrics.

In your second version with the yes/no, this won't work because yes/no is a dimension and not a metric, so you can't pull it in as a metric.

In the first one with the bar chart, you can change the max value of your y-axis (below). It doesn't look like any values are pulling into your bar chart though. Is the build QA (when it's numbers) definitely blue and aggregated by sum?

Let's just stay with the updated "text" or yes no version if possible....

Can't I do something like the TV ad example provided in Data Studio?

Simply replacing the "I don't recall" or "I do recall" with Yes and No?

Yes, you could. It would be on a total time level (not split by month). But you still need a metric field to quantify that and you don't have one in your dataset. What you could do is add another column (value, or whatever) and put a "1" in each cell in that column. This gives a value to each. Then, say you have 12 months, of which 8 are yes and 4 are no. When you add build QA as your dimension and value as your metric, it will show 66% yes and 33% no.
