Data Studio: No selection in filter defaults to select all values

Hi All,

We have a graph + filter like below that has multiple selections. The default display of the graph is when the filter is 'select all.'

It's fine if you make single selections, but when we deselect all, graphs still defaults to 'select all' state. We can't seem to find any setting to have an empty graph when nothing is selected.

Anyone have a workaround for this? Appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Clarence

Hi Clarence,

That's actually working as designed: select none is the same as select all (the logic being I guess that an empty graph is not very useful). Can I ask what the use case is you're trying to solve with "select none"?

Best regards,

Rick

Hi Rick, thanks for confirming this.

While 'select none' defaulting to 'select all' is fine be me, some of our users get confused if they select none, everything is just showing up. I guess you have to point out to them that an empty graph doesn't have value at all.
