Hi,

I just started to create custom data reports in Data Studios, however I want implement my custom channel groupings. I found a thread where they explain what to do. However some of my channels are  not being included into my new custom channel grouping field. I avoided the AND & OR statements because i read that some of the problems came from this statement. This is the formula:

CASE WHEN default channel grouping = "Direct" THEN "Direct" WHEN Source/Medium = "google/cpc" THEN "Paid Search"
WHEN Source/Medium = "bing/cpc" THEN "Paid search"
WHEN Source/Medium = "Bing_Yahoo/cpc" THEN "Paid Search"

WHEN Source/Medium = "ai.zanox.com/referral" THEN "Affiliate"

WHEN Source/Medium = "ui.zanox.com/referral" THEN "Affiliate"

WHEN Source/Medium = "zanox/html5banner" THEN "Affiliate"

WHEN Source/Medium = "facebook/banner" THEN "Social Advertising"

WHEN Source/Medium = "facebook/post" THEN "Social Advertising"

WHEN Source/Medium = "facebook/post-collectie" THEN "Social Advertising"

WHEN Source/Medium = "Facebook/facebookpost" THEN "Social Advertising"

WHEN Source/Medium = "instagram/banner" THEN "Social Advertising"

WHEN REGEXP_MATCH(source,"(myhomeshopping|beslist|marktplaats|koopkeus|twenga|vergelijk|beslist?utm_source=beslistslimmershoppen|kieskeurig)")THEN "Vergelijkers"

WHEN default channel grouping = "Organic Search" THEN "Organic Search"

WHEN Source/Medium = "duckduckgo.com/referral" THEN "Organic Search"

WHEN Source/Medium = "r.duckduckgo.com/referral" THEN "Organic Search"

WHEN Source/Medium = "bing/organic" THEN "Organic Search"

WHEN default channel grouping = "Social" THEN "Organic Social"

WHEN Source/Medium = "m.facebook.com/referral" THEN "Organic Social"

WHEN Source/Medium = "facebook.com/referral" THEN "Organic Social"

WHEN Source/Medium = "l.facebook.com/referral" THEN "Organic Social"

WHEN Source/Medium = "lmfacebook.com/referral" THEN "Organic Social"

WHEN default channel grouping = "Email" THEN "Email"

WHEN Source/Medium = "Tafelzeilonline nieuwsbrief/email" THEN "Email" WHEN Source/Medium = "retail rocket/trigger_emails" THEN "Email"
WHEN Source/Medium = "adform/banner" THEN "Display"
WHEN Source/Medium = "chat.adform/referral" THEN "Display"
WHEN Source/Medium = "traffic.adform.com/referral" THEN "Display"
WHEN default channel grouping = "Referral" THEN "Referral"
ELSE"Other Advertising"
END

Currently only 7 channels definitions appear (Organic Search, Organic Social, Vergelijkers, Other Advertising, Direct, Referral & Email), and Paid search, Affiliate & Display do not appear. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Kind Regards,

Paul

FOUND IT, all the spaces need to be exactly the same as in Analytics.

You might have more luck if you try pulling from medium rather than source/medium. It looks like the labels you're looking to use are the values that would be in the medium field anyway.

That is true, however some of the CPC medium must be set under a different channel grouping label e.g. adwords cpc and comparisson_sites cpc. But you are right, however the previous product owner made a mess of the analytics account (and the UTM tags) so this is a temporary solution. Thanks for your reply though.
