Count Distinct Not working

I am counting employees that have worked across seperate weeks. Dimension: Week Commencing Dates. Metric: CountDistinct (Employee ID's).  If I have 30 employees on one week and the same 30 the next week, when I create a bar chart it displays the unique number of employees, 30 in this case, for each week. (They have multiple entries, so it is actually only showing the distinct ones)

However, I wanted the unique number of employees across 2 week period in a scorecard, instead of showing 30 it adds the unique number in each week and gives a double figure, in this case 60. Why is this and how do I stop it? Surely it should be distinct across any given period?

Thanks,

Paul

Count Distinct isn't working for me either. I have a table with 7000 unique names but has 13000 rows in total. When I do Count_Distinct(Names) I get 13000 instead 7000.

I think it's weird that a basic function is not working properly, I hope this is not on the 360 suite version. A few weeks ago, it was working properly though.

I noticed that Data Studio is no longer in beta but, count_distinct() is still buggy. It still gives incorrect results.

Anyone else noticing the issue?

Hello, my count distinct is working for an entire data set to give the correct number of users but when I put a time constraint on the data set it returns an incorrect value. Any ideas on when this will be fixed?

Count Distinct works perfectly for a single Dimension value, in my case it was for week commencing dates ie Monday 30th Jan 2017. Add in another Dimension Value, 23rd Jan 2017 and it just adds the two count-distinct values together.

You can Count Distinct the Dimension Values, in the above case it's 2, and get the average unique values etc.  However, this is not quite what Google intended I assume.

I have the same issue here

I have a table with organic keyword ranking

20170101      foo       1

20170101      bar       1

20170201     foo        2

When I appy count_distinct to keyword it returns 3 as foo ranking 1st and foo ranking 2nd is different.

Any workaround?

+1. We're experiencing this issue when distinct count is made over a date range.

Doing a daily export of support tickets with timestamp. We have a scorecard using the timestamp for the date range dimension and a distinct count on the ticket id.

When we use the default range selector (scorecard properties) with a single date it works, but fails with a date range.

I can get a correct distinct count directly from an sql query on our MySQL database.

Would love to see this resolved!
