Calculated fields no longer set to auto aggregation?

Hi,

I'm having issues with creating calculated fields in new dashboards.

Previously, whenever I'd create calculated fields such as CTR or CPM, it would be set to 'auto aggregation':

^ the above is an example of an older dashboard that's still running ok.

When I create new calculated fields now, it's no longer set to 'auto', but instead to sum.

There's no option either to select 'auto', only sum/avg/min/max etc.

The formula itself hasn't changed. Is there anything obvious I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

also this change is to avoid confusion when deal with the base field

did you try update the formula from maybe from click/impression to sum(click)/sum(impression)

+1 I have just come across the same problem here. Would like to know if anyone have a clue on this.

I think this is rather critical for metrics like CTR, because when aggregation is set to "auto", Data Studio would calculate the weighted average, but now it could only calculate sum/avg/min/max, which is......a disaster.

Same question. CTR still set to Auto aggregation in previously created reports but in creating new reports or copies, I'm running into the same issue.

Hi Jerry,

Both Google Sheets and PostgreSQL connection.

Issues persist with both connection types each time I try to create a calculated field.

When I tried "sum(click)/sum(impression)", the problem was solved, and the aggregation column changed to "auto".

Thanks Jerry!

Thanks Jerry!

That seemed to fix it.

So CTR was clicks/impressions and is now sum(clicks)/sum(impressions)

CPM was (spend/impressions)*1000 and is now (sum(spend)/sum(impressions))*1000

Thanks Jerry! I updated my formula in Google sheets and it is working
properly again.
