BUG? My report lost connections between objects and their own data source.

Hi all,

starting from today, when I select an object it seems that it lost connection with the datasource: dimensions and metrics is set to "Invalid" (see attached image).

The strange thing is that the selected object shows the data correctly.

This behavior occurs for all of the objects in the report.

I cleared the browser cache (Chrome) but nothing changed.

Thanks,

Massimo

hi Massimo,

Did you change your name fields in your data source or the location of your source ?

it seems strange.

I did many import yesterday and i don't have this kind of problem.

Ok, first try to see if you have still this when you refresh data in Data Studio.

If it's still same, click on the arrow near your different shield, select the good one and after delete the dimension and the metric having problems.

when it's done, be sure that your report is saving.

Close your data studio and open it.

Every thing should be good after.

Hi Patrick,

The problem is still present after data refresh.

When I click on the arrow, no dimensions nor metrics shows as selected.

It seems that your data source is not connected.

In the top bar, select "resource" and "manage added data sources"
menu.PNG

Look if you have your data connected (maybe u changed your data source name?).

If no, click on "refresh data".

If still no, it seems that your data source was deleted.

So click on "+ ADD DATA SOURCE" and select your data source as you did.

When data will be connected, turn back on your sheet of report and select data, your dimension and metrics.

In my dashboards I also have the problem that the metrics and dimensions were suddenly set to "invalid". This has occurred with different data sources. Yesterday, the dimensions and metrics were still properly assigned.

Were there any changes to the source code in DataStudio?

Kind regards

Sascha

@Sascha K

I have 5 data sources connected in my report Data Studio.

1 analytics with 254 charts and 4 data source Spreadcheet and all is ok.

Maybe it's a bug with a kind of data source. Which kind of source is it for you ?

Hi

I'm experiencing the same problem in all of my reports. Both the dimensions and metrics shows as invalid, but all of my graphs and data are showing properly. This first occurred when I logged in this morning, and I haven't made any changes to the data source.

The data source I'm using is Google Analytics for all reports.
