Applying a custom dimension to Avg. Position metric in AdWords

Hi -- I was wondering if someone could help me with the following:


I am currently working in an AdWords Connection. I set up a custom dimension to differentiate between 2 types of campaigns. I used the following case statement to do so:


WHEN REGEXP_MATCH(Campaign, '.*Brand') THEN 'Brand'
WHEN REGEXP_MATCH(Campaign '.*NonBrand') THEN 'Non-Brand'
ELSE 'Other' END


When I first applied this to my report, all of my aggregated metrics broke (i.e. the "Unable to aggregate ratio metrics in the request. Please select another metric." error). In any case, I was able to re-introduce them by creating separate custom formulas (e.g. Clicks/Impressions for CTR).


My only problematic metric left is Avg. Position. I don't think I can easily replicate this result, as I understand it's a complicated weighted average. Nonetheless, I'd still like to be able to segment my results for Avg. Position by Brand vs. Non Brand.


If anyone has any ideas, that would be much appreciated. Let me know if you need more clarification.
